Police Investigate Security Lapses at Iconic Events Venue Following Reported Suicide
Authorities have launched an investigation into security protocols at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) after a woman reportedly took her life by jumping from one of the top floors on Friday, November 8.
According to a report obtained, officers from the Parliament Police Station discovered a severely injured, unidentified young woman’s body on the second floor near the amphitheater.
Preliminary investigations suggest the woman, estimated to be around 18 years old, may have jumped from one of the top floors in a suspected suicide.

While police have yet to confirm the woman’s identity, online sources claim she was an active social media user named Lucy, who went by the handle @seasonedbricks.
Her last post, which read, “Today has to be a good day. Nishachoka na hii November yenu (I am already tired of November),” has sparked conversations online following the tragic incident.
Reports indicate Lucy accompanied a relative to KICC, where she accessed the 14th floor before allegedly jumping from a window, prompting police to examine how she managed to access the area, as it houses office spaces.

This tragedy follows a similar case just two days prior, when another woman, Charity Muthoni Mutoi, died after reportedly jumping from the 19th floor of View Park Towers in Nairobi.
Muthoni had left her personal items, including her phone and jacket, on the floor before excusing herself and taking the fatal leap.
