As the Senate prepares to deliberate the impeachment motion on October 17, public opinion on who should replace Deputy President Gachagua appears fragmented.
According to the Infotrak survey, 20% of Kenyans favor Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the top choice for the deputy presidency, citing his expertise and experience.

Other candidates have garnered less support: 5% back Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, while Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi received similar backing. Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro each secured 4%, and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga trails with just 2%.

The poll also reveals growing concerns over national leadership, with 73% of respondents expressing dissatisfaction with the direction of the country under President William Ruto’s administration.
Infotrak’s Research Manager, Johvine Wanyingo, emphasized that Kindiki’s leadership experience has made him a popular choice among those seeking change.
