Kindiki criticizes Gachagua, accusing him of fostering division among Kenyans

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has strongly criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over recent incidents of public unrest during Gachagua’s visit to Embu.

Following Gachagua’s remarks in Embu, where he called out leaders for remaining silent on abductions, Kindiki, during a Sunday church service in Kimumu, Mbeere North, condemned the actions as divisive.

Referring to a burial ceremony where the crowd reportedly refused to listen to the President’s speech, Kindiki accused Gachagua of incitement and urged him to avoid spreading discord.

“If you have personal grievances, don’t bring them here. I have shown him respect, but he must also respect me,” said Kindiki.

The Deputy President further criticized Gachagua for stoking public anger without presenting actionable solutions.

“You can’t claim to listen to the people’s grievances, only to complain and cry without addressing the issues. All you’re doing is fueling anger and frustration,” Kindiki said.

He also called on political leaders to refrain from escalating tensions and engaging in personal attacks, labeling such behavior as poor leadership.

Amid growing speculation about his perceived silence and limited public appearances, Kindiki dismissed the concerns as distractions.

“Watch this space. We understand what Kenyans expect, and our focus remains on solving real issues,” he assured.
