Gospel sensation Ringtone Apoko recently opened up about his lavish lifestyle, shedding light on the source of funds that fuel his extravagant purchases of luxurious homes and cars, often showcased on his social media platforms.
During an exclusive interview with NTV, Apoko attributed his financial success to the unwavering support of his loyal fan base, acknowledging their pivotal role in propelling him to stardom within the music industry.
“As one of the most prominent artists in Kenya, my music resonates far and wide, touching countless lives. Whenever I go live on social media, I receive generous contributions from individuals who have been inspired by my musical journey,” he explained.
Reflecting on a notable instance, Apoko recounted a significant monetary gift he received from a devoted female fan, inspired by his renowned track ‘Pamella’.
“My wealth is a blessing from above. I’ve been fortunate to receive substantial sums from unexpected sources. For instance, a fan once sent me $10,000 (Sh1.3m) as a token of appreciation.
She identified herself as Pamela, residing in the United States, profoundly moved by my song ‘Pamella’. Such acts of generosity are not uncommon; I receive support from numerous admirers,” he shared.
Addressing the challenges encountered within the music industry, Ringtone underscored the importance of self-discovery and embracing individual purpose.
“Our primary obstacle lies in recognizing our unique calling. Each of us is designed for a specific role, and understanding this is paramount to our success,” he emphasized.
Recalling his early days in the industry, Ringtone reminisced about facing rejection from established industry figures, particularly the Groove Awards clique.
“My upbringing on the streets shaped my persona, diverging from the conventional image of a gospel artist. I encountered resistance due to my outspoken nature, which didn’t conform to their standards,” he revealed.
Driven by resilience, Ringtone transitioned into motivational speaking, leveraging his personal narrative of overcoming adversity to inspire others.
“Sharing my story of triumph over adversity became my lifeline amidst industry rejection. Despite facing favorites, I found solace in fulfilling my purpose through motivating others,” he reflected.
Looking ahead, Apoko shared his ambitious vision of expanding his influence across Africa, particularly targeting the younger demographic.
“I believe my purpose is fulfilled, yet I aspire for greater heights. Africa holds immense potential, especially among Gen Z. Within the next two years, I envision myself as the preeminent gospel artist on the continent,” he declared with unwavering confidence.
