President William Ruto has instructed the Ministry of Education to delay the reopening of all schools due to the flooding emergency caused by the continuous heavy rainfall. Speaking to the nation on Friday, President Ruto announced that the resumption date for schools should be postponed “until further notice.”

Originally, schools were scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 29, but this date had already been deferred to Monday, May 6.
“The Ministry of Education is directed to postpone the reopening of all schools in the country for the second term until further notice,” said Ruto on Friday.
