Joel Omondi Rabuku, son of Francis Ogolla, revealed his suspicions regarding why he believes his father may have sensed his impending demise.
The Ulinzi Sports Complex transformed into a solemn venue on April 20, 2024, hosting the Military Honours and Memorial Service for Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla.
Francis Ogolla will be laid to rest without a coffin due to his humble request for a simple farewell, as eloquently revealed by his son, Joel Omondi Ogolla, during the service, in a touching eulogy.
Despite the attendance of high-profile politicians and dignitaries, General Ogolla’s humble wishes took precedence.

His son disclosed that the casket holding his father’s remains was purchased for a modest sum of Sh6,800, symbolizing the late CDF’s commitment to simplicity, even in death.
Joel Omondi Ogolla underscored that his father’s true essence and spirit had transcended, leaving behind only a mortal shell.
“The casket he’s lying in is a very simple mbao ambayo hata haijapigwa randa. I’ve just been told it cost Sh6,800. Hii mambo mingi ya casket ya ati sijui mtu mkubwa na expensive casket ya sijui one million. His essence and spirit are no longer with us. This is a body which he used to serve the country and now it’s finished. Even Jesus himself was wrapped in a sheet and put in a tomb,” he said.
