WHY JAHMBY KOIKAI WILL BE BURIED IN LANG’ATA CEMETARY
In a tribute to his late daughter on June 14, 2024, Mr. Koikai acknowledged his parental shortcomings with a heavy heart as he bid farewell to her.
“Dear Njambi, my daughter, the time has come for me to seek forgiveness for my actions, or lack thereof, during your final journey from this world. It has been one of the most challenging episodes in my life, especially for your close family members – your mother, sister, aunts, uncles, colleagues in the media, and friends both within and outside the country,” Daniel Koikai expressed.
“I will cherish the memories of you in various ways, and here in public, where I may have fallen short as your father, I humbly ask for your forgiveness. I pray that your soul finds eternal peace. Until we meet again, farewell,” he added.
In a separate eulogy, Mr. Koikai shared the last precious moments he shared with his daughter, Njambi.
Reflecting on their relationship, he acknowledged both the highs and lows, revealing that they only reunited during Njambi’s high school years due to his work abroad during her childhood.
“During the good times, we enjoyed shopping and dining at various restaurants in the city, and your joy in our meetings was evident. I deeply miss those cherished moments we spent together.
Regrettably, during the tough times, we would go for days or even months without communication, a fact I solely blame myself for and will always regret, as it deprived me of the chance to reconcile with you,” Mr. Koikai lamented.
