Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has dismissed claims of a rift within President William Ruto’s administration, urging Kenyans to unite behind the government’s agenda for the New Year 2025.
Speaking on Saturday during the wedding of Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano’s son Peter and his bride Wambui, Kindiki emphasized the importance of focusing on national progress over divisive narratives.
“I’m on holiday with a few hours left, and I intend to enjoy the remaining time. Ignore everything else completely. Don’t fall into the trap of trivialities and small issues. We have important work to do,” Kindiki stated, adding that President Ruto had granted him a brief break.

He expressed optimism for the year ahead, urging all Kenyans to support the President’s vision to propel the country forward.
The event, attended by family, friends, and dignitaries, including Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, was a celebration of unity and progress.

Earlier, the Deputy President outlined the Kenya Kwanza government’s priorities for 2025 through his social media platforms. He highlighted five key focus areas aligned with the administration’s bottom-up transformation agenda for 2022-2027.
“The last weekend of the festive season provides an opportunity to prepare for a critical year in implementing The Plan, 2022-2027,” Kindiki wrote on his X account.
He urged Kenyans to transition from festivities to nation-building, underscoring the government’s commitment to sustaining macroeconomic stability, creating jobs, and empowering citizens through income-generating opportunities.
Kindiki also emphasized the need to enhance economic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, and internet connectivity, alongside improving social amenities like schools and healthcare facilities.

“For holistic prosperity, we must pair these critical infrastructure improvements with strong social values, love for one another and our country, and the fostering of strong families and intergenerational solidarity,” he said.
Kindiki reaffirmed his belief in Kenya’s potential, urging citizens to embrace unity and work collectively to strengthen the nation in 2025 and beyond.
