Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has called on leaders in the Mount Kenya region to put an end to ongoing political disputes and concentrate on delivering their development commitments to the people.

She emphasized that every elected official has a clear mandate from their constituents, which should take precedence over divisive politics and personal attacks. Waiguru expressed strong support for President William Ruto and cautioned that the nation’s development agenda should not be derailed by divisive politics or premature campaigning for the 2027 elections.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru highlighted her accomplishments in office, asserting that her track record reflects her commitment to the promises made during her campaigns. As Chair of the Council of Governors (COG), she urged fellow leaders to support one another’s achievements rather than engage in actions that undermine development for selfish gains.

Speaking at the centenary celebrations at Our Lady of Sorrows Baricho Catholic Church in Ndia Constituency, she presented President Ruto’s donation of Ksh. 2 million for the construction of a clergy house, emphasizing that the region could thrive if leaders prioritized development.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, also present at the event, echoed Waiguru’s sentiments, stating that ongoing political maneuvering is detrimental to the region. He noted he is observing the political realignments closely but has chosen to remain silent for now to see how things unfold.

Gachagua urged elected officials to stay focused on their responsibilities and avoid unnecessary conflicts that hinder progress. He reminded those who have aligned against him of the support he provided during their campaigns, asking them to recall the positive contributions he made.
