Suspected Kware serial killer arrested in Kayole, confesses to 42 murders

Police have apprehended a man believed to be the primary suspect in the gruesome killings and disposal of bodies at Kware dumpsite in Embakasi, Nairobi.

Mohammed Amin, the Chief of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), announced on Monday that Collins Jumaisi Khalusa has been arrested. Khalusa allegedly confessed to the murder of 42 women, including his wife, Imelda Judith Khalenya, spanning from 2022 to July 11, 2024.

The arrest of Jumaisi occurred during a 1am raid in Kayole, facilitated by tracking his mobile signal.

“The suspect was traced through transactions made on Josephine Mulongo Owino’s phone, one of the victims,” explained Mr. Amin.

At the time of his arrest, police reported that Jumaisi was actively attempting to lure his next potential victim, identified as Susan. Detectives have summoned her to provide a statement.

According to officers involved in the operation, the suspect resides approximately 500 meters from Kware dumpsite, where the remains of at least eight women had been recovered by Sunday evening.
