Political activist Kasmuel McOure joins ODM

Political activist Kasmuel McOure has officially joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, marking a significant step in his political journey.

In a statement issued on Sunday, following a meeting with ODM Chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Kasmuel announced that the party is launching an initiative to revitalize its youth and student leagues across the country.

He emphasized that ODM is the only party in East and Central Africa committed to championing the rights and welfare of the people.

Kasmuel called on young people to join the ODM movement, stressing that it is the only political force working towards building a country where everyone can live with dignity. He further described ODM as the largest pro-people party in the region.

“If you’re looking to be part of a genuine political movement for a fair, democratic Kenya where everyone can live with dignity, look no further than @TheODMparty — the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa!

” Kasmuel said. “We are revitalizing the Youth and Students’ Leagues and inviting passionate young Kenyans to help shape our nation’s future. Stand with us! A big thank you to party chair @gladyswanga for your trust and for hosting us this weekend.”

Kasmuel also shared plans to engage in a nationwide outreach campaign, aiming to recruit both educated and uneducated individuals to join ODM. He committed to leading efforts to register young people as official party members.

Governor Wanga, in her remarks, expressed her confidence in Kasmuel’s leadership potential, stating that the future of ODM lies with the vibrant, forward-thinking youth. “ODM is the party of the future, and that future belongs to young people like Kasmuel McOure.

We are looking to Gen Z and Gen Alpha to drive this party forward, and that’s why we value the involvement of brilliant young leaders like him,” she said.

Kasmuel’s decision to join ODM comes shortly after a meeting with Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister and founding leader of the party.

His entry into ODM follows his prominent role in leading the Gen Z protests against the controversial Finance Bill, 2024, which saw him at the forefront of both online and street demonstrations against the government.
