President Ruto Speaks Out Against Exclusion in Politics

On Mashujaa Day, Sunday, October 20, President William Ruto delivered a strong message about unity and inclusion in Kenyan politics. He emphasized that Kenya’s heroes come from all ethnic communities.

Key Points from President Ruto’s Speech

  • Diverse Heroes: Ruto highlighted that Kenya’s national heroes came from different communities and spoke various languages, but they were united in fighting for national liberation.

“Our heroes did not hail from one village or speak one language. They were united in confronting an unjust and oppressive system,” said Ruto.

  • Unity is Important: The President stressed that any approach that tries to exclude or alienate any group harms the entire nation.
  • Unity was crucial for early heroes like Mekatilili wa Menza and Ronald Ngala, who fought against colonialism and for devolution.
