Mr. Oscar Sudi, the Member of Parliament for Kapseret, has announced that he possesses evidence detailing how certain leaders from the Rift Valley region orchestrated the destruction of business establishments during the anti-Finance Bill protests.
Among the premises targeted was Mr. Sudi’s own Timba XO club, which suffered looting and extensive damage during the recent unrest.
Addressing a gathering in Kesses Constituency on Friday, Mr. Sudi vowed to publicly identify and condemn those responsible for orchestrating the attack on his club.
“I intend to expose the leaders who hijacked the peaceful protests by our esteemed Gen Z and incited chaos. These individuals allegedly devised sinister plans and colluded with thugs to vandalize private property. It’s time they are brought to light,” Sudi stated.
He further alleged that the infiltrators of the demonstrations had intentions of destabilizing the government.
“Clearly, the infiltrators of the protests were aiming to stage a coup to remove President William Ruto from power,” Mr. Sudi asserted.
He highlighted that the initial protest, organized by the youth and which included his daughter, had a genuine purpose until it was disrupted by troublemakers.
“I have Gen Z children myself, and I question why someone protesting against the Finance Bill would resort to destroying someone else’s property,” he added.
The newly opened Timba XO in Eldoret fell victim to vandalism and looting by a mob, resulting in damages amounting to millions of shillings.
Renowned Bongo artists Diamond Platinumz and Zuchu graced the club’s vibrant opening, establishing it as a premier entertainment venue in the region.
Following last week’s incident, the MP announced his intention to step back from public engagements and expressed regret over the impact on the country.
