Ramula village in Gwassi West Location, Suba South Sub County is in mourning following a suspected arson case in which two children from the same family were burned beyond recognition.
The victims, Saviour Omondi, a three-year-old PP1 pupil at Ramula Primary School, and his brother Reagan Otieno, were asleep when their house caught fire and consumed them.
Chief Tobias Opiyo of Gwassi West Location reported that the tragedy occurred while the children’s parents were attending night prayers at a nearby home.
According to Chief Tobias Opiyo, the fire began at 3 AM on Saturday and had already consumed the entire house by the time the father arrived. He had been alerted by screams from his first wife, who was sleeping in one of the other houses.
