Senior Finance Manager – Tax
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for preparation of the CIT return for KCB Bank Kenya
- Responsible for the implementation of tax governance and compliance processes for KCB Bank Kenya in compliance with the Group Tax Policy.
- Implementation of Transfer Pricing Policy in the KCB Bank Kenya context and custody of all related documentation around all TP transactions.
- Responsible for the preparation review and approval of all direct and indirect tax returns, filings, and payments for KCB Bank Kenya taxes.
- Responsible for tax risk identification, tracking and reporting for KCB Bank Kenya.
- Responsible (in consultation with Group resources) on all KCB Bank Kenya tax litigations and appropriate professional advice and justifications for tax provisions on all uncertain tax positions.
- Responsible for review of other tax returns (over and above corporation tax) as assigned for entities across the Group.
- Supervisory responsibilities over the Tax Analyst work
- Responsible for tax reporting and disclosures for KCB Bank Kenya Financials.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Certified Public Accountant
- At least 5 years work experience in tax management as well as management experience in financial analysis and people management
Finance Analyst – Tax
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation and review of the tax returns and the accurate, timely filing and payment of all taxes for KCB Group Kenyan entities.
- Implementation of tax governance and compliance processes for all direct, indirect taxes and agency taxes (with exception of CIT) for all the KCB Group Kenyan entities.
- Provide support to all the KCB Group subsidiaries around the preparation of standardized system-based reports for review and analysis of all direct, indirect and agency taxes.
- Responsible for substantiation of all General Ledger tax accounts for KCB Group Kenyan subsidiaries.
- Maintain appropriate systems and processes for tax risk identification and management for KCB Group Kenyan subsidiaries.
- Provide internal and external tax advisory and support on tax matters to the various teams across the group, including procurement, accounts payables, payroll, branches and other user departments.
- Support the internal and external tax audits, special tax related projects and resolve iTax issues that the Kenyan businesses encounter.
- Maintain and update KCB Group Tax Database with copies of tax returns, payments filed with revenue authorities and all related correspondences monthly.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The preferred candidate will meet the below criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any business related field from a recognized institution.
- Is a Certified Public Accountant
- Should have at least 3 years experience in finance, specifically in tax management and in the following areas:
- Financial Analysis & performance management

Senior Manager – Funding & Integration Management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing short term and long funding requirements of the Group and its subsidiaries by working with entity heads of finance and managing directors.
- Managing relationships with existing funding partners to the Group and its subsidiaries and identifying areas to deepen more collaboration to deliver additional opportunities for the group.
- Appraisal of the group investments decision for existing entities, markets, projects and potential, planned or targeted expansions and/or acquisitions and make appropriate recommendations for capital optimization to aid in decision making.
- Scout for new funding opportunities in areas of green lending and financing, technical support to upskill banking entities across different markets to position them for funding additional funding opportunities.
- Monitor compliance to covenants, and terms with long term funding partners, and working with respective entities structure remedial plans and timelines, follow up on implementations to ensure full compliance.
- Assess potential investments, target acquisitions, acquired entities and draw roadmaps to aligning and meeting the group’s financial objectives of such investments.
- Assessing finance resources, processes and systems capabilities (in conjunction with IT) of targeted, and/or acquired entities and drawing improvement/scale up or investments plans to align to group capabilities.
- Reviewing intra group funding resources and capabilities, and working with respective entities and group finance director, recommend cross funding/lending opportunities to maximize group returns.
- Working with group entities, review dividend declaration and payment opportunities to group, follow on approval, payment and settlements.
- Forecast and draft recommendation for review by the group finance director, external shareholders dividend declaration and payment plans.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a business related field from a recognized university. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- A Certified Public Accountant. Certification in financial analysis (CFA) is an added advantage.
- Has at least 6 years work experience in the finance field, with specific management experience in the below areas:

Head – Group Finance Reporting & Controls
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of Group Financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting standards (IFRS), Central Bank Prudential guidelines, Capital Markets Authority and other regulatory requirements.
- Co-ordination of the Group’s external audit process working with group external auditors, country, and entity Heads of Finance to ensure timely completion of Audited Financial Statements.
- Oversee implementation of the group financial reporting standards, chart of accounts, new IFRS while ensuring consistency in reporting and compliance regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions.
- Working with various heads of finance, and unit heads, ensure timely completion and review of annual financial integrated reporting for approval and publication.
- Coordinate Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) group consolidated reporting supervision and addressing any queries thereof.
- Review of the group’s financial performance against targets providing insights into risks and opportunities per entity, financial and presentations of quality performance packs to group senior management.
- Oversight the implementation and review of the group financial models including but not limited to IFRS 9, IFRS 16, EIR, and Staff Loans Valuation models in compliance with IFRS.
- In coordination with country heads of finance, scanning the various regulatory environment for regulatory changes that may impact the group, preparing an impact analysis and recommendations to Group Finance Director.
- Oversight the Group Revenue Assurance function by ensuring process improvement on revenue collection, recording and reporting, highlighting and follow on collection on identified revenue leakages.
- Oversight environmental, sustainability and governance alignment and reporting across the KCB Group.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The preferred candidate will meet the following minimum criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in any business related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
- Is a Certified Public Accountant
- Has at least 10 years work experience in the finance field, including specific management experience in the following areas:
- Financial Consolidation

- People Management

- Driving annual external audits
- Experience in project management will be an added advantage.
Portfolio Manager Card Issuing
JOB DESCRIPTION
- The role holder works closely with the Head of Card Issuing and the Issuing team to deliver exceptional business performance through the provision of Portfolio MI and analysis and business improvement initiatives. Work closely with other stakeholders (Credit, Operation, Finance, Risk etc.) to ensure card strategy and risk management measures are performed.
- Understand cardmembers’ lifecycle and identify business opportunities through data analysis and campaign result reviews.
- Report performance of Card portfolio growth and profitability and participate in planning cycle with management, Finance and other units to ensure consistency with business goals.
- Provide support in Driving all Card issuing projects to ensure timely implementation and shorten goto-market duration.
- Conduct regular portfolio performance analysis across the card portfolio to identify profitable products and segments.
- Monitor card usage promotion and campaigns in line with Business objectives.
- Liaise with card stakeholders (Legal and compliance, marketing, Finance, call center, operations and third-party vendors) to ensure flawless and timely execution of portfolio initiatives.
- Assist with recommendations on enhancements to cards value proposition, sales process and rewards/ loyalty optimization, to ensure competitiveness in the market.
- Executes the established internal control systems and compiles relevant information for departmental audits, as necessary.
