Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged President William Ruto to unite the Kenya Kwanza Alliance party. Speaking at PEFA Church in Thika, Kiambu County, on Saturday, Gachagua emphasized that this unity is important for the country’s development.
“Ningetaka kuuliza rais wetu ajaribu tu, aweke nyumba yake pamoja tuweze kufanyia wananchi kazi,” he said.
Noting that it has been two years since their election, Gachagua mentioned that many projects, including road construction, water works, and initiatives in the energy and education sectors, have been stalled.
Addressing the impeachment claims, he emphasized that there’s no point in trying to harm others, as focusing on development is far more important.
“If you ask me, all those plans are useless because we were given five years to serve Kenyans,” he said.
Likening the government to a homestead, he said if there is a problem at home, the man of the house gathers his wife and children and solves the issues.
“Our people hate betrayal, and they are very unforgiving if you betray them. I ask my brother President Ruto not to be tempted to go that direction,” he said.
“That is just my advice. It does not have to be taken.”
He mentioned that when there was an attempt to betray Ruto, the people of Mt Kenya rallied in support of him. Gachagua reiterated that the government should prioritize the country’s development.
